Heterogeneous thorax phantom. 1a) Six slabs of acrylic (density 1.16 g/cm3) simulating the homogeneous media, with an aluminum cylindrical insert (2.7 g/cm3) simulating bone equivalent material and two low density (0.04 g/cm3) inserts symmetrically positioned and separated by an acrylic area (mediastinum), simulating lung region. 1b) For film measurements film 1 is positioned between the second (homogeneous slab) and the third slab (inhomogeneous slab); film 2 is positioned between the two inhomogeneous slabs with lung media.
