MRI and FDG-PET image of the first case. A 50-year-old female with 20-mm left breast cancer (ER+, PgR-, HER2–) was treated with 52.8 Gy (RBE) C-ion RT and adjuvant 5-year tamoxifen (TAM) and 2-year LH-RH agonist. Contrast-enhanced gradient-echo T1-weighted MR images of pre-treatment, 1 month after, 3 months after, 6 months after, 12 months after and 24 months after C-ion RT. FDG-PET/CT images show the left breast tumor with maximum standardized uptake value (SUV) of 2.5 before treatment. Two months after C-ion RT, FDG uptake was almost normal. At 9 months FDG uptake had disappeared
