Short term ophthalmologic outcome was determined at first control visit after radiotherapy (up to 3 months after end of treatment). The changes in visual field and visual acuity only showed a moderate correlation. Visual acuity as well as visual field showed significant improval in the selected patients treated according to the algorithm depicted in Fig. 1. Notably, even patients with severe defects before the start of therapy showed improved function afterwards
